Settlement of Estate Of Josiah Davis

Listed as one of the founders of Spring Hill Baptist Church in the village
south of Troy, Pike Co. AL 11 Sep 1852

There has been no record of marriage found thus far for Josiah and Marina. The 1860 Pike Co. AL census list a Mary Ann Martin age 17 in the home of Josiah and Marina. She is listed again in the home of Marina Davis 1880 Pike Co. AL cenus and listed as age 37. She is listed as daughter of Marina. Josiah has passed by this time. There is no mention of this Mary Ann in the settlement of Josiah's estate. This creates an assumption that both Josiah and Marina were married previously and that Marina may not be the mother of Josiah's daughter Emeline Josephine Davis. Further research is needed.

Josiah married Marina circa 1835. (Marina was born circa 1810 in GA, died on 7 May 1893 in Pike Co. AL and was buried in Ballard Hills Cem. Pike County, AL.)
