1840 Dale Co. AL Census
1850 Pike Co. AL Census
1860 Pike Co. Al Census

According to family ledgend, Sutton was a mechanic and was killed when a cotton press fell on him. There has been no final resting place discovered for Sutton, however research suggest that he is most probably buried at The Richland Church in Pike Co. AL as this is the area that he lived and there are other fmaily members at this church.

At least two of Sutton's sons served in Co. F of the 15th Ala Regiment. Those being Dempsey R. Warrick died of disease 15May1862 and Samuel W. Warrick. It should be noted that Samuel and Dempsey's brother in law Greenbeery Bray that married sister Elizabeth also served in the 15th Ala.
