John Edward Andrew Barker is listed at The Alabama Archives as having been born 16 Aug 1845, that he served in the 63rd Ala Regiment and that he was a pensioner in 1921 living in Eufaula, Barbour Co. Al
His Confederate tombstone marker was placed at his grave in Carryville, Washington Co. FL sometime after his passing. The information to obtain the marker was supplied by his daughter Laura Hinote. Family information supplied by descendants suggest he is buried beside his grandson Perry A. Evans. There is also a stone for Perry Evans in same cemetery placed post burial. It should be noted that his daughter Laura Barker Evans Hinote's second husband Henry Milton Hinote is buried in same cemetery.

I have not found John Barker listed in 1930 census, nor found a listing for him in either the Alabama nor Florida death index.
