There are apparently some pages from the 1870 Barbour County, AL census that never made it to be microfilmed. Neither Alfred and his family nor Benjamin F. have been located in 1870. There is a sale of land of about 159 acres in 1863 to a James Wall from Alfred Thomas and his wife Malinda Thomas.

There is what appears to be a mortgage for a crop of $70.82 executed to a John F. Reynolds by Alfred Thomas and his wife Malinda Thomas of Barbour County dated 06 Jan 1873.

Alfred married Malinda SCARBOROUGH on 19 Sep 1838 in Laurens Co. GA. (Malinda SCARBOROUGH was born about 1822 in GA and died after 1873 in AL.)
